Our Favorite VanLife YouTube Channels

Favorite Vanlife YouTubers

Vanlife Youtube channels are a great way to hear firsthand from those who are RVing or living in an adventure van. I have my personal favorites, and I thought I’d share. We have a YouTube channel, but we have yet to publish for various reasons, mainly because I have a face for radio, and I think there are so many good channels out there. I think too many people do videos much better than we could.

Jarrod Tocci

Jarrod’s channel was one of the first channels I followed because of the van tours. However, he’s got a lot of other tiny living, sustainability, and Overlanding content. And in the last year, he’s picked up a puppy, Glacier, which we love. So if you want some of the most detailed van tours, you should check out his channel.

New Jersey Outdoor Adventures

I like this channel again because the host of New Jersey Outdoor Adventures does an excellent job touring all sorts of RVs, including schoolies, travel trailers, and adventure vans. Also, given our interest in the AirStream Interstate 24x, we like Patrick because he is an expert on Airstreams and gives excellent information.

Christian Schaffer

I like Christian’s channel because not only does she share things about her van life but also because she’s an exceptional photographer, and she’s the epitome of the van life Instagram aesthetic. Her videos and photographs are nothing short of breathtaking.

HumbleRoad

George Mauro is a former fine art photographer for the watch industry and RVer who started a second career as a van builder in retirement. I love George; he’s, in my mind, the favorite uncle of Van Life. His channel HumbleRoad does a great job detailing not only how he builds vans but how to fit a van to a person. He’s perhaps the most detailed van builder you would meet (Mark at Nomadik Customs is a close second if not dead heat).

Strangerpalooza

Hank Strange and his life Lola are RVers. He’s a Coachman Beyond owner, and while it’s a top-rated Class B platform, not my favorite chassis, I think he does a good job talking about van life. I like his enthusiasm.

Irene Iron Travels

Aaron and Chris are a full-time RV couple that lives and works on the road with their pup, Louie. In addition, they run an online fitness and nutrition coaching business (Irene Iron Fitness) while traveling all around the country. They have moved from a Class B RV to a Ford pickup and travel trailer set-up. We started following them because they originally were in an Airstream Interstate Class B motorhome. Still, they are outstanding about talking about their experiences and how they live in a van.

Dr. Hannah Straight

I started following Dr. Hannah Straight when I looked at the potential of getting a truck camper. I love my Ford F150 Raptor and have contemplated going to a full-size bed and truck. Dr. Straight lives in a popup camper, and her channel covers living in a truck camper. She’s also a Pittsburgh, PA native, as am I, and I got into her channel because of this angle. Though I don’t think this is the ideal set-up for me because of my terrible knees, the step-up into the camper, and the step-down, I would love to find a more accessible way to get in and out.
